Lutein - 60 Veggie Capsules
Lutein helps maintain eyesight in conditions associated with sunlight damage, such as cataracts and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Lutein protects the eyes against oxidative stress, improves macular pigment optical density and helps to reduce the risk of developing cataracts.
What is Lutein? Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids naturally present in the lens and macula of the human retina. They are strong antioxidants and prevent oxidation and photo damage in the structures of the eye. The eyes are particularly vulnerable to free radicals and both the lens and the retina are extremely fragile and need to be protected. Lowering the oxidative stress affecting the macula may help prevent age related macular degeneration. The greatest eye health benefits associated with nourishment come from foods high in lutein. Lutein and zeaxanthin are stereoisomers (mirror images) and the only carotenoids (natural plant pigment) found in the eyes. Of foods containing lutein, Kale contains the most.
